Camilo Castro Plazas

Graduate in Social Communication and Journalism from Universidad Externado de Colombia, with a specialization in photojournalism and photography for audiovisual productions.

His journey in the audiovisual field began in 2021 as a production and lighting assistant for the feature film “Matrioshka” by Colombian director Jorge Forero. Since then, his passion for photography and cinematography has only grown stronger, shaping a clear professional path with ever higher goals.

Throughout his career, Camilo has taken part in a wide range of national and international productions, where he stands out for his adaptability, collaborative spirit, and calm approach to demanding set environments. His problem-solving mindset and sharp attention to detail allow him to thrive under pressure and deliver outstanding results.

His technical experience in the camera and lighting department spans lighting assistance, gaffing, video assistance, data management, 1st and 2nd AC, as well as operating stabilization systems such as DJI Ronin, Movi Pro, and Steadicam.

Today, Camilo specializes as a camera, Ronin, and Steadicam operator, while also embarking on a promising career as a Director of Photography.
